Port Number
A port number is like an address used by computers on a network to talk to each other. It's a number that tells the computer which program or service it wants to communicate with. Think of it as a door number in a building. In computer networks, port numbers go from 0 to 65535. The lower numbers (0-1023) are for well-known services like web browsing, and the higher ones are for custom or temporary services. Ports help data packets find their way to the right place on a computer.
